Contribute to #HerVote
On the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment, we are inviting people to engage in conversation with women in their lives by asking: ARE YOU GOING TO PARTICIPATE IN THE 2020 ELECTION? WHY? HOW?
Here’s how it works:
Download and print this template. Write your own response or record a response from a woman in your life.
Photograph yourself holding the response.
Post your picture to Twitter or Instagram (or both) with the hashtag #HerVote.
Encourage others to become part of history by participating in #HerVote.
By posting on social media with the hashtag #HerVote, your responses will be archived as part of the records of Schlesinger Library. Your work will become part of our permanent collections—alongside papers and books from famous suffragists and other history makers. Your responses will continue to shape the way we understand women’s role in our democratic processes.
Q & A
Can I participate if I’m under 18 years old?
Yes. If you’re photographing yourself, just make sure you hold your response in front of your face and snap a picture. You can include your hair or your hands, arms, or shoulders but no faces please!
What if I don’t have a printer?
Record your response on a blank piece of paper! Make sure to write “#HerVote” somewhere on the page.
What if I want to participate but don’t want to post to social media?
We’ll do the posting for you! Photograph your response and send it to
